I am Gary A. Urso, attorney at law. I have been a trial lawyer since 1984 and have committed my career to issues affecting families and children. For more than 27 years, I have been fighting for the rights of individuals, families and children. In addition to being a private family law attorney, I have been certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a family mediator since 1995, and have mediated hundred of cases for individuals in the alternative dispute resolution arena.
Formerly, I was a state prosecutor, prosecuting misdemeanors and felonies. I was also a Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services (HRS) senior attorney handling dependency cases for the state of Florida, and now represent parents when they are facing the loss of their children from the Department of Children and Families.
I have my bachelors and masters degrees from St. Lawrence University in Canton New York and my juris doctorate from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio.
